Show Girl

1. What is the history of showgirls?
Showgirls were very popular in the 1800s in shows such as the Persian music halls and cabarets in places such as the The Lido, Folies Bergere and the Moulin Rouge attributes. The Lido is a French cabaret show in Paris where dancers such as showgirls perform to a wide audience and have been since 1946.
2. Why do you think show girls wear feathers?

A show girl is a dancer and performer that entertains an audience. They also present and host the show. They mostly perform in shows such as musical, circus or theatrical productions. They wear glamorous costumes with alot of gems, glitter and big long feathers.
This show girl costume is dark blue and white. It has alot of silver tassles which makes the costume look glamorous. The dress has huge fluffy feathers coming down from the back which looks like a peacock.

This show girl costume has a lot more flussy feathers on the skirt, hat, and even the sleeves. There are also silver tassles on this costume aswel to make it glamorous. The colour of this costume is pink/peach and white.
